



Crystal Soul is a 3rd person exploration game where the player impersonates a crystal ball able to solve puzzles inside a mysterious forest.
A one-month project for Accademia Italiana dei Videogiochi, combining game design, narrative design, level design, and programming. I work mainly on Level Design.

I have taken care of:

Landscape painting and sculpting with the aim of giving verticality to the map developing terraces on which to create different biomes laterally

Macro - layout:

Environments and props of the spectral lake area. As this area contains a puzzle platform, I thought it was the most time consuming area due to the tests, the golden path and the precise positioning of the assets so I started from this
Working process:

Started from the perimeter of the lake using sculpting and painting

Placed wood golden path

Key collection zone at the end of the wood platforming

Added small and big props into the lake to make it look like a "scruffy lake"

Added foliage

Worked on all the material including optimization of them

Spawn temple environments

Started the enrichment and spawn zone

Added a few arches at the top to make it look like the roof had fallen in

Surface manipulation to give the feeling of an abandoned place with grass on the rocks
